Change & the wood engraving revival

Title: Change. The Beginning of a Chapter. In Twelve Volumes. Vols. I-II (all published).

Author: Hilton, John, and Joseph Thorp, eds.

Book Description: 104, 100pp., buff paper boards, cloth spines, paper labels. A few marks to covers, Vol. II with occasional foxing and wear and snags at edge of spine, but perfectly sound; a very good set, errata slip in second number. Idealistic and elegantly produced little volumes liberally illustrated, mostly with vignette wood engravings, by artists including Gill, Gibbings, Gribble, Lovat Fraser, Rooke and Philip Hagreen. Printed by the Curwen Press, here masquerading as the Decoy Press because of the radical nature of the magazine.

It was intended to be a subscribed radical anti-war monthly book that had to be cancelled after two issues only due to little interest.
